Boracay is a small island in the province of Aklan and it is located off the northwest part of Panay Island. It is categorized under Region Six of the Philippines. It is a relatively small island which is around seven kilometers long and has a land area of 10.32 square kilometers in total. This island is filled with exciting activities that you can easily avail. The tourists and locals get along perfectly and the white beach is one of highlighted items in Boracay’s tourism.
The best time to visit Boracay is during the high season, which starts in early October to ends of April. This time, the beach is calm and clean because the wind blows out the sea. It is perfect for island hopping and lots of water activities like parasailing, snorkeling, helmet diving, etc.
The low season runs from early May to the ends of October. During this season, you will find the best price in hotel accommodations and not so crowded beach. Though during these times, it is most likely to have windy and rainy days.
Let’s go to some of the things that you can do in Boracay!
One of the most exciting activities in Boracay is the island hopping, which you can explore the beauty and experience the aura of the island. Also, your tourist guide will let you do snorkeling and cliff diving. The island hopping will take 4 to 6 hours.
Next stop is helmet diving and this time you will have the chance to feed the fishes underwater. One thing that I love about this activity is that even if you don’t know how to swim, you can still do it. Helmet diving is so exciting because you will walk on the ocean floor, swim with the fishes and take amazing pictures underwater. One more thing that you need to take note in doing this activity is the extreme pressure underwater. The pressure will really hurt your ear but don’t worry because the diving experts will teach you how on to release the pressure in your ear; It’s basically blowing your nose.
Your Boracay experience will be even more exciting when you try parasailing. You will be whisked into the sky while securely strapped in a parachute. It is one of the most tried activities, next to island hopping. It is really fun because you will get the chance to see the island in birds-eye view. You can choose to do it with someone else or just you alone. Either way, you will still have a soft glide in the sky with amazing view in the horizon.
These are just few of the amazing and exciting activities that you can try during your stay in Boracay. On top of these, you can also try some mainland adventures and tours, scuba diving, jet ski, the crystal cove tour, etc.
